IT’S #SPOOKYSZN: HALLOWEEN FOR YOUR BRAND
Every year, the PSL’s seem to come out sooner. Fall and particularly Halloween have reached the status of marketing holidays seemingly overnight. There’s no denying that Halloween is a big money maker for candy brands and costume manufacturers, but increasingly non-related categories are feeling some of that splash over.
Jewelry brands launch limited edition Halloween pieces, clothing brands determine that anything can be a costume...and consumers are ready for it. Here are some examples of Halloween marketing for products that aren’t traditionally in the Halloween category.
Jewelry Brands
We love when brands go all out for holidays, Halloween is no exception. When you’re in the jewelry space, you could choose to note the holiday in different ways.
1) Making a Halloween themed collection from products you already make (i.e. all of the black/orange/silver products).
2) You could make a dedicated new collection just for Halloween.
We love this example from Baublebar.
Food & Drink
When you think about Halloween and food, you probably think of Halloween candy. However, just about any type of food and drink can participate in Halloween marketing campaigns. One of the best examples of this would be Burger King. Throughout the years, they have always marketed heavily around Halloween. From the black bunned burger in 2015, to the white bunned “ghost” burger in 2019 – they’ve always seen the value in Halloween marketing.
Plus we love this old Halloween ad from Burger King poking fun at their competitors.
Fashion & Clothing
If you’re a brand that doesn’t make Halloween costumes, you may think that you can’t get in on the holiday, however with the right accessories any brand can get in on the Halloween fun! Prompt your customers to think creatively with your clothes.
