Get to know DRP Digital Marketing Manager

Coming to us from the heart of Texas, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Emily Carpenter, our new Digital Marketing Manager.

Emily comes to us with an exciting background, starting her career with the world-famous Dallas Cowboys. At the Dallas Cowboys, she served as a Marketing Assistant to the Brand Manager, where she worked on their store concept called Fans United - where local fans could find their favorite team’s gear, from professional all the way to high school.

After her run in sports marketing, she joined men’s custom clothing brand, J.Hilburn, where she worked closely with the CEO and other team members. During her time at J.Hilburn, she successfully managed the marketing department during a global pandemic - kicking off a relationship with former NFL Linebacker and ESPN Analyst, Marcus Spears.

We wanted to get to know her a little better and asked her a few questions:

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE A CAREER IN MARKETING?

Oh gosh, I think this might be the easiest question to answer. I was always the kid that wanted to get to the movies early so I could catch the previews, because they were always so exciting for me.

I always found the idea of creating something that pulls at your heartstrings exciting. So what I’m saying is, because of the hard work and passion that has to happen behind the scenes - you, the person experiencing it, ultimately believes in that product or service and has to have it.

HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE MARKETING?

Marketing is more than just digital ads and billboards. It’s a feeling. It’s inspiring. It’s something that happens to you without you even knowing it. I have a dream that one day, with one lucky brand, we’ll create a SPECTACULAR together.

WHAT IS A SPECTACULAR?

There is a moment for every brand that comes and it just HAPPENS (with careful planning, of course). Some might call it a viral video, others may deem it a PR stunt. But to me, it’s something spectacular. It’s something you’ll remember for the rest of your life the moment you experience it.

WHAT’S YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE ADVERTISEMENT?

Apple - The Crazy Ones. Every time I watch this video, I get inspired. It was a commercial that was aired before they even had a product to sell. Why? Because they’re the crazy ones. They believed they could change the world, and they did. And I’m one of the crazy ones. ;)

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

— Steve Jobs, 1997

Here’s to the crazy ones, Emily!

We’re excited to have you on the team. Let’s go create that spectacular.
