Meet Katherine Gunya
What was your first job? What skills from that job do you use today?
My first (high school) job was as an assistant in a salon. Because it was so heavily customer-facing, it provided me with a good foundation in customer service skills that I still use today.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I love working in HubSpot! It’s an extremely powerful platform, and every client wants different things from it. It’s exciting to be presented with a request that challenges you to expand the way you use the platform’s tools and reporting capabilities. Plus, HubSpot is super user friendly!
Tell us about someone who has inspired you or helped you along the way? How has that person impacted your work today?
This is going to sound really cliché, but my parents have always supported and helped nurture my interests (and given me the occasional much-needed push). It’s thanks to them that I have the confidence and passion for learning I do today.
What are three things you like to do outside of work?
1.
Cooking with or for friends.
2.
Going to living museums. Historical costuming fascinates me, and I genuinely wanted to be a reenactor when I was a kid.
3.
Getting outside and exploring new places. I love hiking, walking, kayaking, etc.!
Why is this role perfect for you?
As a strategic thinker and someone who’s long been told she’s a natural-born teacher, this role gives me the best of both worlds: I get to set up behind the scenes automations and operating procedures, then train the client on how to use everything.
